Dr. Whitney Bird, L.Ac., believes healing can be a collaborative and transformative experience, and is dedicated to her patients physical, mental and emotional health. As a family practitioner, Dr. Bird welcomes all patients and specializes in autoimmune and hormone imbalances, pain management, anxiety/ depression, and the Japanese pediatric acupuncture called Shonishin.
While obtaining her Masters and Doctorate at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, Whitney was fortunate to spend two years learning under the mentorship of the venerable Dr. Raymond Himmel L.Ac., Dipl. O.M. She received her California State Acupuncture License and became certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, spent 3 years with the Community Clinic in Potrero Hill.
Outside of the office Whitney can be found at the beach, on Mt. Tam, or serenading her beloved dog, cat, and birds with her singing bowls or cello at home.
Dr. Mara Canizzaro is a licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of traditional Chinese medicine specializing in natural skincare, facial rejuvenation, pain management, stress reduction, sleep disorders, digestion, Ayurvedic nutrition, and mind-body balance.
She received both her Masters and Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Prior to medicine, Dr. Mara earned a degree at Harvard University studying the intersection and evolution of religion and medicine in Tibet, India, and China from historical times to the modern day.
In addition to her deep love of people, the ocean, and avocados, Dr. Mara finds great meaning and joy in sharing this incredible medicine and all it has to offer with her patients.
